The Addams Family is the strangest family ever. They are living in an old, spooky house with their gruesome butler and a hand named thing as a servant. This extremely weird family’s story is one of the best examples of gothic in cinema. Their unusual customs are apparent even at the beginning of the movie when Morticia tells Gomez “don’t torture yourself Gomez, that’s my job.” This very scene ironically reflects the true intention of the speaker. We see Christopher Lloyd, aka the crazy doctor in Back to the future, as a completely different character, corpse like, bald Fester. Other striking character is Wednesday (Christina Ricci). It’s strange to watch the young lady Katrina van Tassel in Sleepy Hollow as a psycho, grumpy little child.
Even it is full of eerie details as a typical gothic movie, The Addams Family is one of my favourite childhood movies.
I don’t understand why people always try to show that they do self harm. The point of self-harm is to turn your mental pain into physical pain so that you can forget your problems concentrating on your scars. The point is NOT to show how you injure yourself. And no one has to know this. This is all your problem.
